Welcome to Fort Liard! We are located on a thickly forested bank south of the Liard River, at a junction with Petitot River, 544 air km northwest of Yellowknife. Surrounded by the Liard, Kotaneelee and La Biche mountain ranges to the west, Fort Liard is a small but stunning community of the Northwest Territories. Our traditional name is Echaot’l Koe, or “People from the land of the giants”.
